On the same topic as my last entry...

After installing the Facebook video-chat app, my firewall informed me that "Facebook Installer" was trying to access the internet quite often. In order to disable it, the following can be done.

In Task Scheduler, there are 2 entries whose names start with "FacebookUpdateTaskUser". Disable them both.
By default, the 1st one runs once a day, and the 2nd one runs every 3 hours.

In the registry, there is a "Facebook Update" entry under path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\
Delete the key.

CAVEAT: Only disable these automatic updates if you know what you're doing, and if you remember to update the applications regularly on your own. Otherwise, you may miss out on important security updates.
